01 About

This project was developed in partnership with the Dutch government and Alliantie Digitaal Samenleven to support adult emigrants from Arabic-speaking countries in learning Dutch. The goal was to design an interactive mobile application that teaches the language in a simple, structured, and engaging way. The app combines gamification with practical learning to help users build real-life communication skills and feel more confident in everyday situations.

02 Problem and solution

Many emigrants struggle to learn Dutch because the process can feel difficult, slow, and overwhelming. Traditional learning methods often lack motivation, structure, and real-life relevance. This can make integration harder and reduce confidence in daily communication.

The solution was to design a gamified Dutch learning app with clear lessons, interactive exercises, and practical scenarios. The app guides users step by step and rewards progress to keep them consistent. It focuses on useful vocabulary and situations that support daily life and integration.

03 Outcomes

A clear and motivating app design that makes learning Dutch easier and more accessible. Users can follow a structured learning path, practice through interactive tasks, and improve their confidence over time. The app supports stronger communication skills and helps users feel more included in Dutch society.
